Boat Hearse

Using an Adapted River Boat Drawn by a Black Range Rover

About this unique service and why I only require a set donation to charity for its use

For those who in life enjoyed the sea, rivers or lakes and/or associated sports, pastimes or careers, being conveyed to their place of interment using my unique boat hearse will give such a loved one a most fitting send-off.

Adapted for me by a Royal Marine boat instructor & his colleagues as a special project, the 11ft river boat has a dark blue hull with a white gunwale edged in black that surrounds the raised light grey deck on which the coffin rests. A pair of crossed oars are positioned on the deck at the bow as a symbol of the strength of the mariner and of a life at sea. The deck has the same fitments as a traditional vehicle hearse, and the gunwale at the stern is hinged to enable the coffin to be loaded and unloaded with ease, just the same as with a vehicle derived hearse. The boat is permanently fitted to its trailer and drawn by a black Range Rover. I have named the boat hearse Rest in Peace.

This is the only boat hearse in the United Kingdom and being based on the English Riviera in South Devon it is the perfect addition to my fleet of alternative hearses so that families can have the opportunity to use it for their loved one's funeral.

I deem it an honour and a privilege to convey a loved one to their final resting place on behalf of the family, and for that reason I cannot accept payment in return for this service. Instead I ask that a set charitable donation is made in the loved one's memory to Torbay Bikers for Kids (Registered Charity No: 1200973) who raise funds to purchase essential items that will help improve the lives and/or education of children who are disabled or severely ill, living in Torbay and the surrounding area. 225+ children have been helped from donations.
