Traditional Black Hearse

About this service and why I only require a set donation to charity for its use

I can provide a traditional black hearse together with an experienced driver in formal funeral attire, together with a cap if required, for funeral homes within the South Devon area if required.

The hearse is a black Daimler XJ 4.0 Super V8 coach-built in the UK by Wilcox, who are the only authorised Daimler/Jaguar coachbuilder worldwide, and who were chosen to build the State Hearse in which Her Majesty the Late Queen Elizabeth II was conveyed. It has full-length non-tinted windows on each side of where the coffin rests so that it can be seen clearly in its entirety, and on dark days roof lights illuminate the area.  The deck has a walnut finish and cover boards are fitted to it so that the maximum amount of floral and other tributes can be placed around the coffin.

The hearse has a private registration number ending in HRH and does not have any business signage. It has a satellite navigation system together with a hands free mobile phone facility with automatic answering, so any lead or other vehicle can keep in touch with the driver safely. Air conditioning and leather seats add to the hearse's luxurious interior. These same facilities, together with those mentioned in the previous paragraph, also apply to my white Daimler hearse.

Like my alternative hearse services, I do not require any payment for myself for providing this service. Instead, I ask that a set charitable donation be made to Torbay Bikers for Kids (Registered Charity No: 1200973), which raises money to purchase essential items that will help improve the lives and/or education of children who are disabled or severely ill, living in Torbay and the surrounding area in South Devon. Hundreds of children have been helped by donations given.
