HM Armed Forces Hearse

Using an Open-Top Bier Drawn by a Black Range Rover

About this service and why I only require a set donation to charity for its use

Probably the closest there is to conveying a coffin on a horse drawn gun carriage, as used at state and ceremonial funerals. This unique method of honouring our military personnel and veterans in a procession to their final resting place will leave a lasting memory for family, friends and comrades attending.

A black Range Rover draws a black custom-built open-top bier on which the coffin rests draped by a large Union flag which was specially made for this service by the flag maker to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as in the above photograph, and who also made the Royal Standard that draped her coffin. The British Armed Forces Tri-service crest is displayed on both rear passenger doors of the vehicle. I have received praise for this service from both the Royal British Legion and my local Member of Parliament. I used this service for my own late father-in-law's funeral, pictured below.

I deem it an honour and a privilege to convey a serving member or veteran of the British Armed Forces to their final resting place on behalf of the family, and for that reason I cannot accept payment in return for this service. Instead I ask that a set charitable donation is made in the loved one's memory to Torbay Bikers for Kids (Registered Charity No: 1200973) who raise funds to purchase essential items that will help improve the lives and/or education of children who are disabled or severely ill, living in Torbay and the surrounding area. 225+ children have been helped from donations, many of whom had a parent and/or grandparent serving or has served in HM Armed Forces.
