Baby & Infant Hearse
To enable bereaved parents to travel with their loved one to the place of committal
About this service and why I only require a set donation to charity for its use
There are several ways to convey a baby or infant to their place of committal, such as a horse drawn carriage. Whilst extremely worthy, the cost can be prohibitive and the bereaved parents are unable to travel with their loved one, who must make the journey without them by his or her side. I know from personal experience that it would be so much better if the parents were able to travel with their loved one on that important final journey, and not have to follow behind in another vehicle. Bereaved parents I have spoken with share my sentiments.
For this reason I established a baby & infant hearse service using two specially adapted Range Rovers so that the bereaved parents can travel with their loved one to the final resting place. There are two separate areas within each hearse where the coffin can rest during the journey. The coffin can either can rest on the catafalque, as in the above photograph, where the parents sit directly in front of the coffin, and which can be illuminated. The catafalque can be draped in either purple, pale blue or pale pink crushed velvet. Personal items such as a shawl, toys, photographs and flowers can be placed around it. For smaller loved ones there is the option of having the coffin rest between both parents on a mini-deck, as in the below photograph, which is covered in either purple, pale blue or pale pink crushed velvet. There is also a choice of either a white or a black Range Rover hearse to convey their loved one. Both hearses have dark tinted windows to give the privacy needed, side steps together with front & rear air conditioning.
This service was designed to ensure that the bereaved parents can be with their loved one on his or her final journey, and by doing this the experience will leave a dignified, positive and lasting memory for them.
